How wealthy will you be? Your 'Hora chart' reveals it for you
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope

According to the Indian astrology, a horoscope is prepared at the time of the child's birth. Basically, there are 16 types of charts and these are known as Shodashvarg Kundalis. However, there are a few astrologers who prepare six types of charts known as Shadvarg Kundalis.

Following are the names of 16 types of charts:

(1) Janmalagna (Kshetra) (2) Hora (3) Dreshkan (4) Saptamansha (5) Navmansha
(6) Dwada-shansha (7) Trishansha (8) Chaturthansha (9) Dashansha (10) Shodashansha (11) Vinshansha (12) Chaturvishansha (13) Bhansha (14) Khavedansha (15) Akshavedansha (16) Shashtyansha

Generally, people are familiar with only Janmalagna & Navmansha charts. But, an astrologer has to study all these charts before predicting dashas, transits & various yogas in the chart. Hora is usually studied for the wealth of the native i.e. his/her financial condition during the entire life span.

The Hora chart is divided into 2 parts. It has only 2 Lagnas/Rashis- Cancer & Leo. All the first 15 degrees of male Rashis (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius & Aquarius) come under Leo. The next 15 degrees come under Cancer. On the other hand, all the first 15 degrees of female Rashis (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn & Pisces) come under Cancer. The next 15 degrees come under Leo.

From a Kshetra chart (with the degrees of all the planets including Lagna), it is easy to find out a Hora Lagna & the position of all the planets.

Now, we give points to each planet as under:

  • 5 points to exalted planet (only Jupiter will get this if it is placed in Cancer Hora).
  • 4 points to a planet, which is the Lord of the Hora (only Moon will get it if it is placed in Cancer Hora, or Sun will get it if it is placed in Leo Hora).
  • 3 points to a planet placed in a friend?s Hora (Rashis).
  • 2 points to a planet placed in neutral Hora.
  • 1 point to a planet placed in enemy's Hora.
  • 0 points to a planet placed in debilitated Rashis (only Mars will get it if it is placed in Cancer Hora).

In case of Mars & Jupiter in Cancer Hora, they will not get any point for being in friend?s Hora. One has to double the points if planet/Lagna if it is in the same type of Rashis (male/female) & reduce the points to half if planet/Lagna is in the other type of Rashis (male/female).

Thus, through this study, astrologers can derive which Hora is more powerful.

If the 2nd House is powerful in case of a Cancer Lagna in Hora chart, the native will accumulate or earn good wealth.

If the 12th House is powerful in case of a Leo Lagna in Hora chart, the native will experience financial constraints.

It may so happen that both the Rashis / 2nd House / 12th House are equal in points, in this case, the native will not make a lot of money, but will maintain what he/she inherits.

The general results of Vimshottari Mahadashas
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope

It is important to know which House is being occupied by a particular planet & the capacity of the planet to produce the results (The same rule is applicable to Antardasha/Pratiantardasha).

  • Lord of 1st House:- May be considered as the best, provided it is not debilitated or aspected by a malefic planet or in conjunction with malefic planet or asth or not being placed in 6th or 8th  or 12th House. This mahadasha gives luxury, increase in wealth, improved health.
  • Lord of 2nd House:- A very good earning. If this Lord is being aspected or in conjunction with malefic or weak planet then in the Antardashas of the Lords of 6th or 7th or 8th House, a family crisis takes place or the expenses increase. If a Lord of 2nd House is Shubh grah or strong enough then a native gets good financial benefits.
  • Lord of 3rd House:- Oppositions, financial losses are likely if it is not being placed in 3rd or 6th or 8th or 11th or 12th House. In all these 5 Houses it gives a positive result.
  • Lord of 4th House:- Increase in wealth, comfort with vehicle, gain from mother are likely, provided it is not weak or aspected or in conjunction with malefic planet. If it is weak or aspected or in conjunction with a malefic it will create differences with mother and may give some heart trouble too.
  • Lord of 5th House:- Very good results. One may get success in studies, birth of child is also possible. In the Mahadasha of 5th House Lord, Antardashaswami of 1st or 5th or 9th House Lord gives the best results. But, if a Lord of 5th House is weak or aspected or in conjunction with a malefic planet, it causes problems in studies or increases worries of children.
  • Lord of 6th House:- If this Lord is placed in 3rd or 6th or 11th or 12th House, it gives a positive result. Similarly, in the Mahadasha of 6th House Lord and Antardashaswami of 6th or 8th or 12th House, it gives a good result. If Lord of the 6th House is strong or it is being placed in 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th House, it results in poor health, increases enemies or gives troubles from the juniors or servants.
  • Lord of 7th House:- If it is strong or being placed in 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th House, it gives very good results- a good marital life, gains through business partner, fame in society. But, if it is placed in 6th or 8th or 12th House or if it is weak or asth, problems in married life, health problems, differences with business partner or loss of wealth are not ruled out.
  • Lord of 8th House:- If this Lord is being placed in 6th or 8th or 12th House, it gives a positive result. It gives a negative result otherwise. Similarly, planet in 8th House gives a negative result in the antardasha of it?s Lordship.
  • Lord of 9th House:- Very good results. If this Lord is being placed in 1st, 5th, 9th or 10th House, it gives the best results. Similarly, in the Mahadasha of 9th House Lord, Antardashaswami of 1st, 5th, 9th or 10th House Lord gives the best results. If  Lord of the 9th House is being placed in 6th, 8th or 12th House or it is weak or aspected by a malefic or asth, it creates problems.
  • Lord of 10th House:- If this Lord is strong, a promotion in job, expansion of  business, gains from father, success in life can be expected. If it is weak or aspected or in conjunction with malefic or asth or is placed in the 6th, 8th or 12th House, it gives negative results too. In the Mahadasha of 10th House Lord, Antardashaswami of 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th or 11th House, it gives very good results.
  • Lord of 11th House:- It gives a positive result. Since the 11th House is 2nd from 10th House, it gives a very good earning from career. It also gives a positive result if it is strong or being placed in 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th House. If it is being placed in 6th, 8th or 12th House, it gives a negative result too.
  • Lord of 12th House:- If a Lord of 12th House is placed in 6th, 8th or 12th House, it gives positive results, otherwise, it gives negative results.

Ganesha's tips for a happy and prosperous life
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope

Ganesha gives a few tips for a happy and prosperous domestic life:

(a) On your or your wife's birthday and on your wedding anniversary, mix some raw milk with water in your bathing tub. It will dissolve all kinds of differences between husband and wife.

(b) If one feels that warmth is diminishing in marital life then both husband and wife should try to go for an outing during rain. It will solve the problem.

(c) If a lady feels that her husband is having an extra-marital affair then early in the morning when she comes face to face with her husband, she should touch her forehead with her middle finger and recite her husband?s name silently.

(d) If you feel that expenses are increasing uncontrollably then just throw a few sweet biscuits for birds on your roof.

(e) If you are disturbed by nightmares, keep some iron plate or knife below your bed sheet.

(f) Never live in a house facing south. But if you do have a south-facing house, undertake the following remedies:

(1) Fix copper nails on the south gate.

(2) Feed sabut moong to a goat frequently.

(3) If possible, donate a goat to a person who needs its milk.

Gau-grass

Gau-grass can be defined as giving a portion of your daily food to a cow, crow or a dog. A cow is a karaka of Venus, which as we all know represents wealth and wife according to Vedic Astrology. Venus is the Lord of the 2nd House (wealth) and the 7th House (wife), according to Lal Kitab Kundli. So giving a part of your meal to a cow will appease Venus.

Secondly, crow is a karaka of Saturn, which according to Kal Purush Kundli is the owner of the 10th House (profession) and 11th House (gains). Feeding crows appeases Saturn.

Third and not the least, a dog represents Ketu. Ketu is also the karaka of son or progeny. Feeding street dogs ensures the well-being of children and progeny.

Note: If a couple is not able to conceive then the best remedy for them is to feed street dogs on Sunday mornings, before sunrise. It will appease Lord Ketu.

Lal Kitab guidelines for donating or gifting things associated with planets
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope
It is a general rule that if a planet is exalted or well placed in the horoscope, the Karak objects of those planets should not be donated or gifted. On the other hand, accepting gifts of these planets is considered auspicious. If the planet is debilitated or badly placed in the horoscope then the Karak objects of such planets can be gifted or donated, but should not be accepted as gifts or as donations. Ganesha provides the details:

SUN
Sun gets exalted in the 1st House, therefore one should not gift or donate wheat, copper or jaggery. Sun gets debilitated in the 7th House and gets weak in the 8th House. Gifting or donating things associated with Sun will prove fruitful. One thing which should be kept in mind is that donating the Karak objects of Sun should not be done during morning or evening time. This would weaken the Sun. One should donate at mid-day when the Sun is strong.

MOON
If Moon gets exalted in:
2nd House- one should not gift silver, milk or rice etc.
4th House- same as for Moon in the 2nd House.
6th House- arranging free distribution of water or milk will be inauspicious.
Moon gets debilitated in the 8th House. So things associated with Moon can be donated but should not be accepted as gifts.

MERCURY
Mercury gets exalted in the 6th House. So one should not gift things associated with Mercury like flowers, things made of glass, musical instrument etc.
Mercury gets debilitated in the 12th House. So gifting the above items will always be fruitful.

JUPITER
4TH House: Should not donate or gift books, gold etc. This could result in problems in education.
7th House: One should not gift new clothes to any sadhu or saint.
10th House: When Jupiter is placed in the 10th House and Moon aspects Jupiter from the 4th House then a person should not donate for the construction of any religious place. By doing so he might get involved in false allegations.

VENUS
Venus gets debilitated in the 6th House. One can gift clothes, cosmetic items, perfumes etc.
12th House: Venus gets exalted in the 12th House, therefore none of the above items should be gifted.

SATURN

Saturn gets debilitated in the 1st House so gifting liquor, things made of leather, donating cement etc. for any religious place would be auspicious. Drinking free liquor will have an adverse effect.
8th House: If a person constructs a Dharamshala for free stay for travelers, it might make him homeless.

RAHU
Rahu is considered inauspicious in the 1st 2nd 5th 7th and 9th Houses. Therefore one should not accept any gift of electrical equipments, ivory or lead.

KETU
Ketu is considered inauspicious in 3rd 6th and 8th Houses. Therefore one should not accept anything like banana or dogs as pets. They can be gifted though.

Raksha Bandhan A promise to protect from all evils
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope
Usually, it is men who are considered more powerful, strong, sturdy and muscular then women. However, during Raksha Bandhan, it is women who take the initiative to protect their brothers from all the evils and adversaries in life. The bond of protection Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival, which invigorates the brother-sister emotions.

The full moon day in the month of Shravan is observed as Raksha Bandhan. On this day, the sisters tie a sacred thread or raksha sutra on the wrists of their beloved brothers in order to protect them from all dangers. In fact, it is the day when brother and sister express their deep love and affection for each other. Similarly, the priests too do the same to their religious clients (yajman) and the subjects tie the 'raksha sutra' on the wrists of the kings all with a view to protecting them from all the evils.

It is believed that the custom started after an incident mentioned in the Mahabharata. Once Shri Krishna sustained injury on his wrist by a sharp weapon. At that time, Draupdi tore the loose end of her sari and tied that around Shri Krishnas wrist without even giving a second thought. Shri Krishna accepted it as 'raksha sutra' and when Draupdi was in process of being stripped off her clothes by Duhsashan in the darbar of Duryodhan, Sri Krishna protected her from extreme disgrace by supplying her an endless sari.

During the Mughal period, Rani Karnavati, the mother of Maharana Vikramaditya of Mewar, sent a Rakhi to emperor Humayun in order to get his help and protection from the impending attack on Mewar by the rulers of Malwa and Gujarat. Humayun responded readily and defeated the rulers of Malwa and Gujarat, protecting the safety and security of Mewar.

There is another instance of significance of Rakhi during the reign of Jahangir. In Rajasthan, there was a continual hostility between two principalities. Taking advantage of this disunity between them, the Mughal army started military expedition against one of them and the other king was also preparing to help the Mughals by mobilizing his army. At this, the first king sent Rakhi to the other king who was going to help the Mughals. It was then that this king attacked the Mughal army instead and the two united armies defeated the Mughals and remained united for ever.

Puranas too depict few instances of Raksha Bandhan. Once there was a war between the Gods and the demons, which continued for 12 years in which the demons captured the kingdom of heaven. The defeated Gods roamed hither and thither like beggars and passed a precarious life. Indra, the king of Gods went to Brihaspati, the preceptor of God. He narrated how he and other Gods were neither safe nor was there any way of coming out of here. Under these circumstances, there was no other alternative than wage war against the demons who had repeatedly defeated him. Please advise some way-out. This conservation was being heard by Goddess Indrani. She said:Please do not get scared. I will do whatever is necessary to get rid of this danger. This day was the Shravan Purnima. Early in the dawn Saehi Devi took one sacred thread and after the Brahmins uttered the holy invocation, she took it and tied around the right wrist of Indra and told him to engage in war against the demons. As the sacred thread was purified by the holy mantra, it became powerful and protected the Gods against all evils and this vanquished the demons. The holy mantra reads thus:

Yena Baddho Balee Raajaa
        Daanabendra Mahaavala;
     Tenatwaamabhibadhnaami
        Rakshe Maachala-Maachalah.

This is the Vedic form of the Raksha Bandhan mantra. Since time immemorial, this mantra is being chanted by the Brahmins when they tie Rakhis around the wrists of the people. The same mantra is chanted by the brothers and sisters to protect the life and take responsibility of each other. On this day, the Brahmins are offered money and new clothes, and brothers present their sisters who tie them a Rakhi with money. This is the day of pure and innocent love between siblings.

Every house is cleaned two days before the Purnima and the hearth and fireplaces are besmeared. Sumptuous food and tasty sweets are prepared. Pooja is performed for Lord Hanuman and forefathers, as they are offered flowers, incense sticks, rice, fruits, coconuts and sweets.

In Bengal, the Jhulan Utsav starts five days prior to Purnima day and culminates on the day of Purnima. The idols of Krishna and Radha are placed in a swing and the women sing songs on the love-plays of Radha and Krishna. In the houses of the rich, the classical musical programmes are held for these six days and Krishna and Radha are worshipped.

It is believed that the Shivlinga or the phallus form of Lord Shiva at the Amarnath cave of ice accomplishes its full form by nature's process. A pair of white pigeons are seen from time immemorial. Legend has it that when Lord Shiva was narrating the story of immortality to Devi Parvati, she could not listen to the complete story as she fell asleep while the pair of white pigeons heard the full story. It is said that since that time pigeons have become immortal and appear before the holy devotees of Lord Amarnath on the day of Shravan Purnima i.e. Raksha Bandhan day. On this occasion, saints and other holy men offer holy sticks to Lord Amarnath after they wore worshipped with religious rites and rituals at Sri Nagar and carried to the cave of Amarnath.

Raksha Bandhan falls on 24th of August this year. It is important to note that Bhadra is till 9:21 hrs. on Tuesday morning. Purnima will remain till 22:35 hours. Auspicious time for celebrating Rakhi is after 9:21 IST.

Interested in communication studies? Check if your birth chart approves of it
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope

They say, 'pen is mightier than the sword'. If you feel that it's the right time to grab the mightier weapon, go for it NOW! But does your birth chart allow you? Take the reality check given below.

The 3rd House of the horoscope represents efforts made by a native to achieve goals in life, communication skills, talent, hobbies, extra curricular activities and quick writing ability. This House also indicates short journeys, siblings, servants, subordinates, friends, neighbours, right ear, shoulder and arm. Talents such as sports, games, acting, singing, modelling, fashion designing, dancing and painting can also be judged by the strong 3rd House of a native?s horoscope.

Gemini is the sign whose Lord Mercury is the significator of writing and communication that governs the 3rd House in the natural zodiac. Mercury is the planet that gives a person communicating skills. The 3rd House of the horoscope governs all forms of communication (through writing, speaking, mailing, self-expression and speech). People those who want to opt for a career in field of writing and editing (stories, scripts, resume, reports and news) must have a good 3rd House means placement of benefic planets would enhance the chances of growth in a field related to communication and writing. If the 3rd House receives the aspect of benefic planets like Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Moon, one becomes a good writer and communicates impressively in public.

The dasha (period) of the Lord of the 3rd House reveals hidden talents of the native, therefore during this period one becomes introvert and shows his talents through hobbies, correspondence, writings, sports, dance, music and drama. In today?s scenario, one can predict modelling, fashion designing, beauty salons from the native?s 3rd House. This 3rd House of astrological chart explores the communicating strength of a person and his relationship in the community, friend circle, co-workers and neighbours. 3rd House of astrological charts informs us about the relationship of the native with his younger brother. Other points decided by the 3rd House of the astrological charts are mental inclination, ability to communicate, memory, intellect, inclination to study, courage, firmness, acting, younger brothers and sisters, cousins, neighbours, short travels, signing contracts and agreements.

Here are some of the astrological combinations of a profession related to Journalism, Communication, Correspondence, Writing and all the hobbies and talents:

  1. If the 3rd Lord is well placed in the 10th House and the 10th Lord is placed in the 3rd House.

  2. If the 3rd Lord receives the aspect of the 10th Lord.

Using 'Vimshottari Mahadasha' for predictions
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope
The total period of the Vimshottari Mahadasha is 120 years. The name Vimshottari is self-explanatory. It is Vees (20) after Shattari (100) according to a rustic saying. An uneducated villager who would not know how to count will count 120 as 20+100. Hence the name-Vimshottari.

The period for each Mahadasha Swami is given below:

Dasha swami Nakshatra Period in years.
Ketu Ashwini, Magha, Moola 7
Shukra Bharani, Purva Phalguni, Purvashadha 20
Ravi Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttarashadha 6
Chandra Rohini, Hasta, Shravan 10
Mangal Mrugshirsh, Chitra, Dhanishtha 7
Rahu Ardra, Swati, Shattaraka 18
Guru Punarvasu, Vishakha, Purvabhadrapada 16
Shani Pushya, Anuradha, Uttarabhadrapada 19
Budh Ashlesha, Jyeshtha, Revati 17
------
120

These Mahadashas are widely used all over the world. Although some astrologers may use a different Ayanamsha or method, they also follow this one. Some astrologers use Lahiri, Yukteshwar, Raman, Bhasin, Fagan, Krishnamurti ayanamsha or a Sayana method, but for predicting, the the most popular method is the 'Vimshottari Mahadasha' method.

One has to know which Bhav will give a much better result. The capacity of Bhavesh in giving the positive results is given below in a descending order:
Lord of 9th House
Lord of 5th House
Lord of 10th House
Lord of 7th House
Lord of 4th House
Lord of 1st House
Lord of 12th House (this will give a neutral result)
Lord of 2nd House
Lord of 8th House
Lord of 3rd House
Lord of 6th House
Lord of 11th House

Thus the Lord of the 9th House will give the most positive results, and the Lord of the 11th House will give minimum positive results.
Further, even if the Lord of 10th, 7th, 4th and 1st House is a malefic planet, it will give a positive result, and that if it is a benefic planet, it will give a negative result.
Shubh Grahas (in descending order): Shukra, Guru, Shubh Budh, Shubh Chandra.
Ashubh Grahas (in ascending order): Ashubh Budh, Ashubh Chandra, Ravi, Shani, Mangal.

Rahu and Ketu: They are malefic planets, but they do not have a Lordship of any House, and hence the above rule is not applicable. But, it is observed that Rahu may misguide a native leading to some losses. Whereas, Ketu gives no such result.

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto: They do not have a Lordship, but they do bear some results in their Nakshatra swami dasha as per their relations with the Nakshatra swami.

It is observed that sometimes a native may feel that he/she has something major missing in his/ her life. This may indicate the absence of proper dasha in his/her entire lifetime, which will invariably lead to unhappiness.
This may be true to some extent.

Generally, a natal chart is likely to have 4 distinct positive dashas -
(1) Chandra or Budh in childhood.
(2) Mangal, Shukra or Rahu during young age.
(3) Ravi or Guru in middle age.
(4) Shani or Ketu in older age.
If, this does not happen, the native is likely to face depression, unhappiness frustration and other similar situations in life.

Nag Panchami - protects you from venomous elements for 7 generations
Astrology, ganeshaspeaks, Horoscope, prediction
[info]gshoroscope
In the land of snake-charmers - India, Nag Panchami is a festival, which is observed in major parts of the country. Celebrated on 'Panchami' or the fifth lunar day of the bright fortnight in the holy month of Shravan, this festival celebrates the worshipping of serpents or 'Naag' with white lotuses. People make snakes out of clay, giving them different forms and colours. These serpent models are placed on a dais and offered milk. In some parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka, there are permanent temples of Serpent-Gods and a special pooja is performed with pomp and grandeur. There is a special importance of snake-charmers too on this day, as they are offered milk and money. Digging of earth is strictly forbidden on this day. In West Bengal, the Hindus worship 'Devi Manasha' with 'Ashta Naag', the Snake-Goddess on this tithi.

Naag Panchami Vrat or fast is observed on the Panchami of bright half of the month of Shravan. According to Garuda Puran, paintings of 'Naag' should be drawn on either side of the entrance (of the home) and worshipped. This is also known as 'Bhitti Chitre Naag Puja'. Women offer food, laddoos and kheer (typical dish made with the mixture of rice, milk and sugar) to Brahmins. Similar food is also offered to snakes and snake charmers.

There are many stories behind the observance of Naag Panchami. The story mentioned below may interest you!

Once upon a time there lived a peasant who had two sons and one daughter. One day, while the peasant was ploughing the field, the plough ran over three baby snakes, eventually killing them. On seeing the death of her sons, the mother serpent lamented her sons' death and decided to take revenge on the peasant. In the middle of the night, when the peasant and his family were asleep, the mother-serpent entered their house and bit the peasant, his wife and two sons. As a result, all of them died except the daughter. Next morning mother-serpent again entered the house to kill the peasant's daughter. She was very intelligent and hence, to propitiate the mother-snake offered her a bowlful of milk, and with folded hands requested her to forgive her father for the death of her beloved sons. She welcomed the serpent and asked it to forgive her parents. Mother serpent was very pleased by this gesture and brought back to life the peasant, his wife and two sons whom she bit the previous night. Also, mother serpent gave blessings with a promise that on Shravan Shukla Panchami, the women who will worship a snake shall be protected for seven generations.

That was the day of Nag Panchami, and since then snakes are worshipped to avoid snake bites. This year, Nag Panchami falls on 14th August. This tithi is also celebrated as 'Kalki Jayanti'. On this special day, people influenced by Kaal Sarpa Dosha of Rahu and Ketu should also worship 'Ashta Naag' with 'Sarpa Sutra' and 'Naag Gayatri' to get rid of ill effects of this Dosha.

Naag Gayatri Mantra :
Om Navkullaya Vidmahe Vishdantaaye Dhimahee Tanno Sarpah Prachodayat.
